Before modelling entered the picture, Jona had already taken a rather unconventional path: he trained as an automotive systems and high-voltage technician at Volkswagen before completing his training with the police. Sport has been another constant, with more than a decade spent competing in the 200m and 400m sprints, including at German championships. Born and raised in Hamburg to a South Sudanese father and German mother, Jona is naturally curious and happiest when he’s learning or making something—whether repairing things, building furniture, creating social media content or currently learning Chinese. Family and his partner come first, while his helpful nature and openness towards people are qualities he carries into everything he does.
